Pitmaston, Moseley, Birmingham

A development on an historic site in a Moseley conservation area.  A showcase development of sustainable apartments and houses in the grounds of a listed 1930’s Moseley mansion, now providing super energy efficient homes.  The 22 apartments and four houses were sympathetically constructed to fit in alongside their historic surroundings whilst using new building techniques that will significantly reduce energy loss and heating bills.

Cutting edge materials were used in construction including high performance NBT ThermoPlan blocks, which combine fast build times with excellent thermal and acoustic insulation levels and overheating control within a breathable fabric.  The project also included the conversion of the listed former stable block and engine house and as a nod to the past glazed Victorian bricks have been left on show in the lobby of the apartment block.
