The Grand Hotel Birmingham
Since December 2014 the Greswolde site team has successfully completed over £12 million of phased works in this Grade II* Listed Building landmark.
The principal works in each phase were as follows:
- Removal of the original 130 year old timber framed roof and construction of a modern steel built structure clad with the original tiles. The objective also being to create space for additional luxury bedrooms with spectacular views.
- The next phase comprised essential repair work on the facades and internal courtyard areas.
- Further phase comprised redevelopment of 10 retail units at street level with basement and 2 floors of offices.
The Grand Hotel was nominated for awards at the 2017 RICS Award Ceremony in the Building Conservation and Regeneration Sectors.
